This is your page to track the cutting of the Sapphire that you have ordered. I will be posting images of the cutting as it progresses. At this point we have the size and design set up and the material has been ordered. Price agreed upon is $425.00. I will be emailing you to alert you to updates to this page as it gets updated. Enjoy! (Click on any image to bring up the full sized version.)

This is the cut sheet for your gem.

1-11-2025 Started cutting this a couple of days ago. Here are some pics of the cutting process. I expect to have the pavilion completed today and will be transferring the gem to cut the crown, hopefully starting that on 1-12.

Second Pass to make a center point…

Pass 3 to center point…

Point located and length established…

Established final shape and size and pre-polishing main pavilion facets.

1-12-2025 – Next stage, level the girdle and add brilliant facets to the point. The next series shows the rest of the pavilion facets have been added and the gem is in the pre-polish stage. The girdle is level and the next step is final polishing.
The camera isn’t very good at distinguishing the difference between a pre-polish and a polish. So the pre-polish was completed on 1/10 and I put the final polish on at 1/11. So the pavilion is done. I transferred the gem to another stick that night and was set up to start cutting the crown next morning.

1/13/2025 – The next series is laying in the first layer of facets to establish the final size of the girdle.

1/18/2025 – Continuing with the crown cut. The first tier of facets are now in and we have a uniform girdle on the gem. That row of facets has been pre-polished and now we are roughing in the last two tiers of facets on the crown.

By the way… How’s your weather today? This is the view outside my studio window today. Single digit temps.

Now that we have the location and size of the crown facets, I’m going to cut and polish the table. Once that is done, I’ll go back and pre-polish the two rough tiers and then polish all of the remaining crown facts… then your gem will be done.

This series of pics are actually pre-polish photos. At this point the camera has a hard time distinguishing between a pre-polish and a full finished polish. So enjoy these because…

…Your Gem is finished! I’ve tried a couple of photography methods that you will see below. First set is on white paper. Second set is on black rubber. And the last pic I held the gem while wearing a black glove.
